Takesumi, or carbonized bamboo, is renowned in Japan and is now gaining recognition in the US. Essentially, it is bamboo carbonized under precise conditions. Much of the literature is from the East and can be somewhat challenging to interpret. Numerous physicians have noted its efficacy against heavy metal toxicity, chemicals, and frequently food sensitivities. It is considered a superior detoxification product. It seems to absorb mycotoxins, endotoxins, and other biotoxins from various organisms, thereby reducing the burden on the liver and kidneys, which contributes to its anti-aging properties. It is also known to absorb radiation, including radon and nuclear radiation. Many physicians who are knowledgeable about Lyme disease include it in their treatment protocols.
While it possesses anti-fungal and anti-bacterial qualities, they are not as potent as those of other antimicrobial products (such as Morinda, Melia, Vital Guard, Golden Thread, etc.). Due to the porous nature of bamboo, it is an exceptional absorber (reportedly up to 10 times more than similarly treated wood). Japanese research suggests it emits far-infrared rays, improving circulation, as well as negative ions, and provides protection against EMFs. It is also a natural source of minerals, both macro and trace, and is said to have an alkalizing effect.
Sounds like a great product!
