Immune Reactivity to Wheat, Gluten, and Their Processed Protein Forms
What this profile measures
Antigens tested (IgG and IgA measured separately for each antigen)
WheatBurden™ evaluates IgG and IgA antibodies against a comprehensive set of wheat, gluten, and enzyme targets. Idenitfy immune reactivity across wheat components, gluten peptides, and cross-reactive enzyme markers.

When to use WheatBurden™
Use WheatBurden™ when you suspect wheat/gluten may be contributing to chronic symptoms involving the gut, nervous system, or skin—yet standard celiac labs are negative, incomplete, or do not fully explain the patient's clinical presentation.
- Persistent GI complaints where basic dietary elimination has not resolved symptoms.
- Suspected Celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, dermatitis herpetiformis, gluten ataxia, or other wheat/gluten-related disorders.
- Autoimmune risk or family history where wheat- related autoimmunity could be an upstream driver.
- Non-responsive GI symptoms in patients already following a gluten-reduced or gluten-free diet.
- Multiple symptom complaints (e.g., Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia) where food opioids and wheat reactivity may contribute to systemic burden.
- Depression, cognitive changes, or neuro-autoimmunity where gluten involvement is suspected.
