Words mean Things… And when we see or hear the word, “church” a wide variety of ideas and pictures pop into our minds… Some may think of a certain pastor or group of people, others may think of a building, etc… But I bet… when you think of the word “church” you don’t think of YISRAEL? …Most probably think that the “church” is something entirely differentthan Yisrael… And for this reason I believe the word “church” is an extremely divisive term… (let me explain) What if I told you that when you read and see the word “church” (in the English translations of the Scripture) that it is actually referring toYISRAEL… …It is important to understand there is ONE BODY! The So-called “Church” of the Scripture = Redeemed Yisrael Let’s Go to the Scripture and define some key terms: The Greek word that is translated “church” in some versions is ἐκκλησίαEkklessia Strong’s #G1577 Ekklessia is a combination of Ek and Kaleo: ἐκ Ek Strong’s G1537 = out of, from, by, away from Καλέω Kaleo Strong’s G2564 = call, utter in a loud voice, invite, bid Which literally means: CALLED OUT (ones, assembly) Question: Do you recall any people being CALLED OUT in the Scripture? Hint: “When Yisrael was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son.” ~Hoshea 11:1 Is Yisrael the Ekklessia (the called out assembly)? Let’s look at Acts 7:37, 38 in the King James Version: “This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A Prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; Him shall ye hear. This is he, that was in the church (ekklessia) in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: ~Acts 7:37, 38 KJV The 1st Time ἐκκλησία Ekklessia is used in the Scripture LXX: “Even the things that happened in the day in which ye stood before the Lord our God in Choreb in the day of the assembly (Ekklessia); for the Lord said to me, Gather the people to me, and let them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days which they live upon the earth, and they shall teach their sons.” ~Deuteronomy 4:10 LXX (Brenton Translation) The Hebrew word for Assembly is קהל Kahal Strong’s # H6951 Kahal = Congregation, assembly, company, multitude The Kahal (called out assembly) is to keep the Passover on Day 14 / Month 1. “And you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month. Then all the assembly of the congregation of Yisrael shall kill it between the evenings.” ~Exodus 12:6 So we can clearly see from the Scriptures that the Kahal and the Ekklessia are directly linked to Yisrael… So about the word “church“…? Where does it come into the story… …Well here’s where things get a little interesting… Did you know… Tyndale, in his translation, uniformly translated ekklesia as “congregation” and only used the word “churches” to translate Acts 19:37for heathen temples!” “For ye have brought hyther these me whiche are nether robbers of churches nor yet despisers of youre goddes.” ~Tyndale 1536 Acts 19:37 “For you have brought these men here who are neither robbers of templesnor blasphemers of your goddess.” ~Acts 19:37 NKJV Compare Matthew 16:18 between the King James Version, The Scripture Version, and with Tyndale’s Translation: “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” ~Matthew 16:18 KJV “And I also say to you that you are Kepha, and on this rock I shall build My assembly, and the gates of the grave shall not overcome it.” ~Matthew 16:18 The Scriptures Version “And I saye also vnto the yt thou arte Peter: and apon this rocke I wyll bylde my congregacion. And the gates of hell shall not prevayle ageynst it.”~Matthew 16:18 William Tyndale Version In the beginning of this post I mentioned that: I believe the word “church” is an extremely divisive term… Many people are now saying that Yah has 2 chosen people?: The Church and Yisrael …Not realizing that Redeemed Yisrael is the Ekklessia (The Called Out Assembly) The Reality is this: There is Only One Body “one body and one Spirit, as you also were called in one expectation of your calling” ~Ephesians 4:4 Messiah didn’t come to start a new religion…He came to RESTORE YISRAEL! The New Covenant is with YISRAEL! (Jeremiah 31:31-33)
From Genesis to Revelation Yah’s people are called Yisrael (Overcomers)! Those CALLED OUT of darkness into His Marvelous Light! Are you apart of the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-33) Ekklessia (Called Out Assembly) of Redeemed Yisrael?
